We grow for flavour.
Nothing fancy.

Just good food,
grown well.

Grower and chef

Cinderwood is a one and a half acre market garden in Cheshire built upon a relationship between a grower, Michael Fitzsimmons, and a chef, Joseph Otway, who believe in farming food for flavour.

Produce is grown all year round using regenerative farming methods and organic principles, supplying restaurants, bakeries and delis in the Manchester area with vegetables, herbs, salad leaves and fruit harvested less than 24hrs before delivery.

Back to the land

Founded in 2020, the farm was born from the idea that good food should be flavourful and nutritious, easily accessible and grown responsibly. Ingredients are grown with an emphasis on flavour, experimenting with varieties and focusing on maintaining rich, healthy and biodiverse soil.

We aim to use the partnership between the kitchen and farm to create a better awareness of where good food comes from. Increasing the understanding between those who grow, those who cook and those who eat, we can take better ownership of our food system.

Who we work with

If you’re a chef who runs a kitchen that responds to market availability and seasonality in the North-West, we're eager to know what you look for in the ingredients you use.

Please send an email to hello@cinderwoodmarketgarden.co to receive the latest availability list, cropping plan and local delivery details.

In the peak season from May-September, we deliver to Manchester city centre twice per week on Wednesdays and Fridays.

We supply some of Manchester’s most loved restaurants and bakeries: The Edinburgh Castle, The French, Isca, Higher Ground, Yellowhammer, Flawd, Onda, Pollen Bakery and Honest Crust.

“Working by hand, we combine exciting seed varieties with a rich and healthy soil to produce crops bursting with flavour.”
